The major research interest is identification of the candidate genes that expressed differently in human hepatocellular carcinoma. Recent studies have shown that many genes, such as regenerating islet-derived 1 alpha (REG1A), pancreatitis associated protein (PAP), osteopontin (OPN), stathmin, KIAA0101, IMP3, S100, et al. which expressed aberrantly in the neoplastic transformation of liver cells had made the human hepatocellular carcinoma differently in tumor invasiveness, metastatic potential, early tumor recurrence, and patient survival.
